Block Printing and Poetry
10-11:30 am

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll use bricks or tiles and ink to create bold prints—then turn your artwork into an original poem. Think of it like building with words: every line adds emotion and meaning to the story. Your print might become a lost city, a dreamscape, or a memory in disguise. You choose what it means—and how to say it. No art or poetry experiences needed. Just bring your imagination and a willingness to experiment. By the end, you’ll have a one-of-a-kind piece that’s both visual and poetic—and totally your own.

Blind Contour: How to Find a Character from the Outside In
1-2:30 pm

Join us for a teen workshop on building a character starting from outlines. We will begin with a lesson in blind contour drawing where the artist focuses on the outlines of the subject without looking at their paper. From these loose sketches, we will dive into the details of what makes a character realistic, relatable, and interesting to read Attendees will leave with a character sketch, and many of the little details that make us human. No prior writing or artistic experience is necessary.
